Ninja Tune Takeover: WerkDiscs

We welcomed Ninja Tune to the studio at the end of September to take control of the NTS airwaves for a whole day. Their twelve hour hijack included an exclusive interview between Machinedrum and Ninja Tune founder Matt Black, an insane acid mix from Luke Vibert, and sessions from Mr.Scruff, Congo Natty, Illum Sphere and the Invisible. There was also a Solid Steel 25th anniversary special featuring Coldcut, Amon Tobin blessed the airwaves with a spectacular exclusive mix, there was a Werkdiscs special, and Raf Daddy, Toddla T and Falty DL stopped by to show off their selecting skills… The day was an exploration of the label and what it represents – musical depth as well as breadth, and a whole ton of fun.
