From the host: "In this episode Lucia Kagramanyan pays tribute to Hayrik Muradyan, telling his life story and playing his recordings from the Public Radio of Armenia, commemorating the 120th anniversary of his birth. Hayrik was a singer, ethnographer, and researcher who preserved Armenian folk songs, mostly from his native region of Van, many of which he could sing from memory. His uniquely rich and resonant voice is closely tied to the poetry of Armenian folk music, and its joy, sorrow, and resilience."
