London-based DJ and producer Nabihah Iqbal (formerly known as Throwing Shade) brings you an ethnomusicological perspective on weird and wonderful music from around the world. An hour of selections from Giorno Poetry Systems, the platform launched by NYC poet and performance artist John Giorno in 1972.
As well as engaging in live performances and performance art projects – including his famous "Dial-A-Poem" project – the record label wing of the platform released over 40 records featuring music and poetry from Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Meredith Monk, Allen Ginsberg, John Cage, and William S. Burroughs and more.
