Lychee Reggae Mix w/ Wild Wata

There are two schools of thought when it comes to Chinese reggae. One views it as a localized music culture that carries distinct Chinese musical characteristics, while the other prioritizes Jamaican “reggaeness.” In this mix, I gravitate toward the former, selecting songs that reflect my own sense of belonging. These range from the Wa ethnic minority’s dub to reggae-inspired Mandopop and 1970s backbeat folk songs, all of which convey the peace and warmth that reggae brings to local genres.
