From the host: "The bardo is a liminal state, between death and rebirth, also known as the antarābhava. This episode traces spiritual, polyphonic traditions across different latitudes, elegies, rituals for the dead, healing for the living, and invocations for the in between. From Indonesian gamelan to Irish keening, Ethiopian begena to Japanese yokobue; from Greek, Albanian, and Bulgarian laments to Burmese harp and Ghanaian Ewe dirges; through Tibetan bardo meanderings, and polyphonic choirs of Sardinia and Corsica."
