NTS Guide To: Rage Rap
An entry point to the genre which only arose in the early 2020s, with the name 'rage' being inspired by the title of Playboi Carti and Trippie Redd's 2021 single "Miss the Rage". The genre is characterised by dense, repetitive synth work, mostly basic “buzzing” sounding waveforms, and over conventional Trap drum programming but draws upon future bass and dubstep music from the 2010s.
