NTS Guide to: Day After Records: Czech 1990s-2000s emo & Post-hardcore

An hour of music from Day After Records, which became a defining force for Czech 90s emo hardcore and post-hardcore. Borrowing its name from the 1983 Cold War science fiction film The Day After, Míra Pátý founded the label in Pilsen in the first years after the 1989 Velvet Revolution as an independent label and distribution company to connect the previously isolated country with international hardcore punk networks. Day After’s catalogue is as diverse as Czech hardcore veterans Kritická situace, Japanese emo punks 1000 Travels of Jawaharlal, emo-hardcore Four Hundred Years from Virginia and Czech post-hardcore juggernauts Lvmen.

Selected and mixed by Miloš Hroch.
