When Daniel Lopatin took a collection of relatively unremarkable pop songs from the charts of yesteryear, slowed them down and looped them, he couldn't have known he'd invented a new genre of music. His influential "eccojams" would be the sonic reference point for countless electronic producers in what would become known as vaporwave.
