Free Jazz Spiritual Jazz

From its earliest stirrings in the 1960s until it reached international recognition in the 1970s, free jazz occupied an important place in the jazz of Japan. It was centered around the New Jazz Hall, Tokyo’s first dedicated free jazz venue, which helped foster and develop a number of players. Selected and mixed by Joseph Cristaldo.
