Yesterday’s News w/ the Misfits, Speed, Viagra Boys, and Together Pangea — Coachella Edition

Goldenvoice, founded by Gary Tovar in 1981, started out as a DIY booking company, putting on some of the biggest punk/hardcore shows the USA ever saw.

As one of the godfathers of the California punk scene’s company grew into Coachella and Stagecoach and beyond, punk and hardcore went on the back burner for decades, until now.

Presenting one of the biggest and most influential festivals in the States, Coachella — Goldenvoice is going back to its roots, booking more and more punk/hardcore bands to play the festival, something the fest hasn’t seen in almost 15 years.

With the heart of the current punk scene active and present alongside Goldenvoice once again, for the first time ever, Yesterday’s News took over the desert, inviting the most important punk/hardcore bands playing Coachella for direct interviews recorded at the fest, side by side with guest programming from each band for the show.

With the Original Misfits returning after 35 years of disbanding, Australia hardcore favorites, SPEED, creating the most cathartic/chaotic crowd interaction hardcore has seen in years, Viagra Boys left of center social commentary and no slowing down on the weird, and tried and true garage punk veterans, Together Pangea still bringing anthems to anyone who is trying to figure out what growing up is, tune in for an hour of interviews and programming from some of the most unique and torch bearing bands punk has to offer at this present moment.
