Destination Lonely w/ Slothrop00

Punks in the 1960s sang a lot about booze, girls, parties, having a good time, and revenge. Within this era though, a sub-sub genre emerged, tough guys and gals singing about being sad. Sometimes referred to as “moody garage”, the songs from this genre talk of depression, tears, ennui, and angst. Often with haunting reverb drenched organs, other times with deceptively upbeat music as the vocalists sang through their tears. Moody garage has a certain sticky quality that makes me keep coming back.
