Listening backward through my maternal lineage, from pre-Revolution wax recordings to corridos shaped by migration after the Mexican Revolution, then songs and artists my relatives loved, and finally the music my mother passed down. Some tracks are remembered firsthand, others imagined, piecing together what was lost through assimilation.
