SEYYAN AMONG OTHERS W/ MINA BARUT
Inspired by the title of Seyyan Hanım ve Diğerleri by Toktamış Ateş, this mix centres Seyyan Oskay, the first woman to sing tango in Turkey. Rising in 1930s Istanbul, she recorded iconic works before leaving music at its peak to devote her life to her family. The selection places her alongside other women artists, tracing memory, absence and devotion.
