Marva Hicks (May 5, 1975 – September 17, 2022) was an American R&B singer and actress who signed with Polydor in the late 1980s and her debut LP, Marva Hicks, followed in 1991.

Born in the state of Virginia, Hicks worked extensively with a number of accomplished artists including Roy Ayers, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Lena Horne (performing with the legendary singer for almost three years in "Lena Horne : The Lady and Her Music" on Broadway in the 1980s).

She was later noted as a performer on Broadway in "The Lion King".

As a singer with an alto voice, Hicks recorded one r&b album of note in the early 1990s for the PolyGram label. Featured on her album, in a duet, is Stevie Wonder, who Hicks sang background vocals for on his "Characters" album and subsequent tour, circa 1990.

The duet song, "Strong is Our Love" is a highlight on her eponymous album, which also includes some other minor radio hits. The album failed to become a hit. She continued as a background singer on various albums and recordings by many other artists.

In 2013, Hicks, began as a featured performer in the Motown musical on Broadway, portraying one of her idols, soul empress, Gladys Knight.

Also in 2013, Hicks appeared on the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' album Mosquito, performing as part of Broadway Inspirational Voices on the first single "Sacrilege".
