Jrpjej (Cyrillic: Джэрпэджэж) is a collective from Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkarian Republic in the Russian Federation that plays Circassian ritual music. Jrpjej is on a constant search to express their own unique sound but to do so within the boundaries of the tradition.

Jrpjej was formed by former members of Khagaudzh who continued their search for a signature sound and expand on it by working with field recordings and acoustic instruments. This led to the creation of Jrpjej project which is usually 4 to 7 musicians….
