There are two projects with the same name

On July 10, 2014, Sadness released it’s debut album Close. The first Sadness' releases was made in the style Depressive Black Metal, but it’s started to change in 2016-2017 towards Blackgaze with occasional Shoegaze releases.

On April 7, 2019, Sadness released "I want to be there", defined by RateYourMusic as one of the most popular Blackgaze releases. This album is often compared with Deafheaven’s Sunbather, as the second most famous metal album with a pink cover.

Sadness has released over 50 releases, including albums, compilations and splits in 11 years of work.

2) Sadness was a death doom/gothic metal band from Sion, Switzerland, active between 1990-1998.
