Benny Ill (born Ben Garner) has been producing music for over a decade under various alias’s including the dub laced sounds of Bill & Ben. Benny is also a regular DJ at Forward>» in the UK.

As a producer (as well as being one eighth of Horsepower Productions) he is half of the out fit Dub War and also records under the alia’s High Planes Drifter plus collaborated while living in NYC New York for 2 years with Big Apple’s DJ Hatcha and DJ Dinesh / Goldspot for projects on the record label Tempa.

“Benny Ill used to come in the shop. Back in the early garage days he was trying to make garage but he was putting the snare on the wrong beat, on the three beat. It made it more like … he loves dub reggae… he was making dub reggae garage. We were like ‘this is weird’ but Hatcha loved it but Hatcha called it dubstep. It was Benny Ill that started it, without a doubt.”
