There are two artists with the name Dooley Wilson.
Arthur "Dooley" Wilson was most famous for playing the character of Sam in the film Casablanca. Wilson played the song As Time Goes By in the film, and released his own version of it. It's often claimed that in the film, Humphrey Bogart's character Rick says, 'Play it again, Sam' before the tune is begun for the second time. Although the phrase became as famous as the song, and was used, abbreviated, as the name of the record label Pias, Rick actually says, 'Play it Sam. If you can play it for her you can play it for me.'
Dooley Wilson is also a bluesman from South Toledo, Ohio, United States, who has been described as one of "a rare breed of latter-day purveyors of 'hard' Mississippi/Louisiana - styled blues…a combination of bottleneck/slide guitar virtuosity with a renegade intensity." Wilson was also a member of the band Henry & June - alongside Johnny Walker and Ben Swank who later went on to for The Soledad Brothers. The bands most famous song Goin' Back To Memphis has been covered by many other Detroit bands including, most famously, The White Stripes.
