Jean-Paul Sartre Experience has been played on NTS in shows including Lucifer Over LA, featured first on 3 February 2020. Songs played include Flex and Own Two Feet.

Formed 1984 in Woolston, Christchurch. Originally called The Jean Paul Sartre Experience (no hyphen) but that was later shortened to JPS Experience or JPSE. Supposedly due to conflict with the Sartre estate.

Members were Dave Yetton (bass), Gary Sullivan (Drums), David Mulcahy & Jim Laing added guitars "with roughly six strings".

Since the demise of JPSE the members have been involved in a number of other NZ bands; Superette, The Stereo Bus, Pine & Lanky
