In Focus: Einstürzende Neubauten

Einstürzende Neubauten – thats pronounced Ein-stuur-zen-duh noi-bau-ten for all you non German speakers – means "Collapsing New Buildings". It's a name that will make sense to anyone familiar with the band, founded in 1980 by Blixa Bargeld and N.U. Unruh. It will make sense with regard to their sonics – often a cacophony of scrap metal, power tools and architectural detritus, ushering in an entirely new genre of industrial music. It will also make sense with regard to their outlook, which was one of ruthless iconoclasm, both for the musical lineage of the past, and the institutions of their present. This two hour mix of Einstürzende Neubauten's best music, selected by 150 Session.

Rare Groove Dub Reggae Boogie Beats Hip Hop

Each month Chris P Cuts joins NTS for a couple hours, the first half of the show covering new music from across the board, with a focus on Chris P's 22tracks London Hip Hop playlist. For the last half Chris switches to vinyl, drawing on the sounds of disco, soul, reggae and loads more from his extensive collection.
