Palestine shining in our hearts

After I got a chance to meet Yousef in person in Paris in early November 2023 I could feel why we were connected for the past years through a shared love for Palestine and our common space shared through Radio AlHara. Yousef and a network of amazing Palestinian artists launched this incredible vehicle and space online, Radio AlHara, which is both a space to act together for Palestine but also to share our collective dreams. What a gift. I worked on this mix to celebrate Radio AlHara at this time of collective revolt and protest toward the ongoing Israeli state moves to colonize and rip apart Palestine. The Israeli state project, backed by imperialist forces in the west, will never succeed in undermining the existence and essential beauty of Palestine and the freedom that it represents for us all. – Stefan Christoff.

Radio alHara has been an evolving ever-changing platform that adapts to the content for which its residents are responsible for. It started as the embodiment of a public space in 2020. Since then, Stefan has been an immense contributor with regular shows, interviews, and curated long shows featuring field recordings amongst other things. I worked on this mix thinking of analogies between struggles no matter their scales. Radio alHara has enlightened my understanding of solidarity as a tool for connecting threads of specific stories from every corner of the world to collectively write our own version of history. In that sense, I have been astonished by the work of Stefan and the way his shows are contributing to the understanding of solidarity. – Yousef anastas
