LUIS ALVARADO: LATIN AMERICAN EGG PUNK
Luis Alvarado is a record producer, curator, and independent researcher based in Lima, focused on art and sound, and experimental music. He is the director of the record label Buh Records, distinguished for its work in the historical archiving of avant-garde and experimental music from Peru and Latin America. From the host: "Egg punk, or devocore, has gone global, and some speak of a second wave. In Latin America, especially in Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Chile, and Brazil, bands reinterpret the genre from local perspectives, mixing humor, punk urgency, DIY ethics, and synthesized sounds."
