From the host: "An ode to the underrated and magical Lyle Mays - American jazz pianist and composer, best known for his work as a key member of the Pat Metheny Group. Metheny and Mays composed and arranged nearly all of the group's music and Mays in his own right created an otherworldly signature sound through his improvisations. Influenced by composers like Stravinsky, Bartók and Ravel more so than Jazz, he approached improvisation with the precision and skill of the Classical greats, which is very evident when you listen to his works."
