"For this mix, my first mix in almost a decade, I wanted 2 make a strong—if semi-loosely applied—statement about what I like about pop music, edit culture as a whole, the mutant beauty of re-contextualization of the familiar and, with those elements informing Everything, a thesis for the direction I’d like to see popular music move in the coming decadesif it is to continue to exist (doubtful)Huge textures, real melodies, intense + snappy drums, angelic vocals bathed in reverb that you could wade thru. This mix features some selections from a small compilation project I plan on releasing soon called “SoundCloud Edits 2024” as well as carefully selected tracks by artists and producers from whom I have drawn an immense amount of influence in the past year or so. welcome 2 my world lollllllll"

"I would like 2 take a second 2 highlight the voice work present throughout this mix—original copy read splendidly by my dad, Rob, a legend of Michigan radio and truly one of my greatest inspirations. I wrote most of these lines deliriously hungry during my Yom Kippur fast and he unflinchingly mailed the audio files back, mixed, compressed, three cuts of each line in about 15 minutes. My dad is really a one of a kind guy, spectacularly talented and stubborn in his vision, exacting in his criticism, hilariously funny and strange and getting to collaborate with him would be a great honor if I wasn’t already his son… This is really something I get to keep and hold onto forever, and I’ve already warned him that he’s going to be a fixture of my projects moving forward. Who knows maybe…someday…I’ll be able 2 afford 2 pay his ass."
