Southern Proletariat Music Company: Origins
Two musicians find themselves in a fated relationship based on their love for Classical music, long country roads, and a biological aesthetic forever tied to the transatlantic black experience. As Southern proletariat musicians, our mix aims to capture our duo sonic foundations while advancing the notion that black music and its musicians have always been ubiquitous, leaning into all forms of musical performance. The Southern Proletariat Music Company is a duo publishing and performing group who aims to inform and infuse personal narrative with the African-American music experience, in order to express rejection towards white supremacist (material, symbolic, cultural, and psychological) infrastructures.
