Boogaloo or bugalú, a short-lived genre that blended Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican musical tradition with Black American jazz, soul and R&B. It beautifully crystallised the diversity of Harlem in 1960s. I hope this snippet of my vinyl collection transports you to how NYC may have sounded like then.
