In the late 80s Simpson reformed The Wild Swans and signed with Sire to release the albums Bringing Home The Ashes and Space Flower. Having received only measured success with these releases, the band went their separate ways. Simpson concentrated on his solo work, performing instrumental pieces under the name Skyray.
