Through continual splits, reformations, and shedding key band members, the brain child of Roxy Music was always Bryan Ferry. From Roots To Routes (CTM Discourse)

Much contemporary music can be seen arising from trends that exist outside of the Western canon, as part of a global and digital cultural exchange, taking place in a rapidly expanding fashion. How should academics, label owners and musicians classify and document this movement? The From Roots To Routes panel talk explores not only the roots of non-Western musical trends, but the routes they take to arrive at their listeners.

Panelists: Wendy Hsu, Christopher Kirkley, Sarah Abunama-Elgadi, Thomas Burkhalter. Host: Florian Sievers

Presented in collaboration with Norient.
