Midnite Madness endeavours to unearth the spirit of the ancient metal gods as well as the genre's new flesh, taking in most styles—heavy, thrash, black, speed, death, punk, doom, etc. There will be some exclusion: no nu-metal, no triggered drums, no posers and no requests. Only metal is real!
Loose Ends, the London trio formed of guitarist and vocalist Carl McIntosh, vocalist Jane Eugene and keyboardist Steve Nichol, moulded their sound in the era of playful genre melding that directly followed disco's populist decline. Their uniquely eighties fusion of R&B, post-disco rhythm, & sensuous vocal performances were instrumental in defining what is now considered UK street soul. Instrumental too, was the glossy production aesthetic of Nick Martinelli, who worked closely with the group on five albums.
This In Focus is a trip through the silken post-disco & pop of Loose Ends.

An avatar for France’s international prestige in the 20th Century as home for experimental literary movements and satire, and a place free from the usual rigid sexual mores of other western countries, Serge Gainsbourg became renowned throughout the world for his absurdist, humorous and blue lyrics, weaving French chanson, ye-ye, jazz, zouk into a sound all of his own, that is now immediately recognisable as “Serge”.
