Labour w/ El Hadji Faye

This month’s show features the great Senegalese vocalist, El Hadji Faye, one of the singers of the legendary band Étoile de Dakar, of which Youssou Ndour also famously hails. This radio show opens and closes with tama drum solos backed by sabar ensemble on the 1981 release, "Etoile 2000“, then focuses on the "Djirim“ cassette released around the year 2000 with such hits as Dieuf Dieul and Niety Nons, followed by a Super Etoile de Dakar track featuring both Youssou Ndour and El Hadji Faye in duet on the Tafsir Tabaski release from 1981, before some tracks from 1982’s playful Nanou Beyat, and finally closing with the exclusively drums track, Pakargni.
