Spoken Word Breaks Soul Dub

This months Tough Matter show is a recording from the Sonic Lecture at Metro 54, Amsterdam in July 2023, as part of their lecture series. Digging deep into the roots and influences of genres sprouting from the African/Black diaspora, a lecture-based DJ set was presented to a live audience, interweaving a symphony of tracks that explored dub, tempo, multiplicity, spatial arrangement, and rhythm from old familiar sounds to contemporary Blackness.
