LABOUR w/ Molamine Ndiaye Rose

This show features the rising talent and one of the youngest members of the Ndiaye griot family in Dakar, Molamine Ndiaye Rose. Born into a family of drummers, Molamine began performing as a child with his father Taffa Ndiaye Rose, uncles Thione Ndaiye Rose and Birame Ndiaye Rose, and his late grandfather, Senegal’s most legendary sabar player, Doudou Ndiaye Rose. Opening and closing with a short sabar rhythm that signifies the Ndiaye family name, this show features the newest tracks of Molamine, perhaps reminiscent of early Ndongo or Pape Ndiaye Guewel tracks, here leading his own band, including the religious praise ‘Baye Fall’.
