The Shake It Show: Slowing Down the Heart in the Daliang Mountains w/ Bomba Brown
An audio postcard, a love letter from the Daliang Mountains to the world. During my artist residency with the Wilderhaven Project, I learned about the Hulusheng and indigenous weaving practices from Ms. Xiong and the Dechang Lisu Heritagers. I collected field recordings on the mountain, at the loom, the markets, tea houses, mahjong houses, and in the forest while foraging mushrooms. I listened to music while sewing each day, and those songs are woven in as well. I was in a practice of deep listening to rest, liberation, and what sounds slow down the heart with my sister Woostalila.
